Casa Vera Orvieto

CasaVera B&B is set within a traditional building in the historical centre of Orvieto.  This pretty accommodation is ideally located to visit Orvieto and the many delights to be found in this undiscovered gem of Umbria.

The magnificent cathedral – the Duomo – the Captain of the people Palace, the Mancinelli theatre, Orvieto underground, San Patrice well and the museums are all only a few minutes’ walk away from CasaVera. The medieval quarter, with its magical atmosphere, is only a short distance away, easily reached by wandering through the typical lanes of the town.

Orvieto, land of art and culture, is also renowned for the excellent wine, Orvieto Classico, which is produced in the area. In the centre of Orvieto there is a wide choice of very good restaurants, typical trattorie, wine shops and delicatessen where you can indulge yourself.

Only 5 minutes walk away from CasaVera is a car park.  This is free of charge during the night and charged per hour during the day.

In the main road, Via del Duomo, in the centre of Orvieto is the family shop owned by Cesare’s parents; here you can find the best quality food and the finest wines from Tuscany and Umbria.

Orvieto is easily reached from the highway A1 and by train. The railway station is only 10 minutes drive from the historical centre and Rome and Florence are only 1 hour and 1 and a half hours by train from Orvieto.  An efficient Funicular connects the historical centre to the railway station in 2 minutes with departures every 15 minutes.

Orvieto is well positioned to visit many other interesting cities and pretty towns such as Rome(1 hour drive), Florence (1 hour and a half drive), Todi(45 minutes), Perugia(1 hour), Assisi (1 hour and 20min), la Cascata delle Marmore (1 hour and 10min), Civita di Bagnoregio (half an hour) and Bolsena Lake (20min).
